About Seduction Meals

Seduction Meals is about Food and Romance, and everything in between –  a go-to destination for creating and sharing a memorable romantic meal for two.

The idea of Seduction Meals started at a friends party in a Tribeca loft. Surrounded by a group of five, I was chatting with a friend, a single, hot film director who was telling me about his latest crush. He was excited that she was coming to his place for dinner the next night for a dinner date. It was their third get together, and he was looking to impress.

“That’s great news!” I replied. “So, tell  me, what’s your seduction meal?”

He laughed and said, “Good question! I’ll have to think about that.” I could see the wheels turning in in head as he walked away to refill his drink.

Someone else jumped in. “Well, I have a few, but my go-to-dish is one of my mom’s recipes for lasagna – it works every time!”

Another person overhearing the conversation chimed in, “I make the best Paella you’ll ever have, served with my special white Sangria.”

“Steak Diane, definitely my Steak Diane!” shouted a nearby guest. “What is Steak Diane?”

“It’s a grilled steak served with mushrooms and shallots in a delicious cognac cream sauce. To die for!”

“Wow! What time is dinner? I’m there!”

This passionate food conversation went on for quite a while; everyone enthusiastically sharing their “Seduction Meal.” At the end of the evening, as I was heading out, my filmmaker friend ran over to me and exclaimed, “Bouillabaisse is my favorite reccipe for a special date. I also have a so-called ‘famous’ dish that my friends always ask me to make – grilled swordfish with olive tapenade. I think I’ll go for the Bouillabaisse – I’m out to impress!”

“Good choice!” I hugged him, kissed him good-night, and asked him to keep me posted.

Walking home to the West Village with a friend, we laughed about how much fun and engaging the foodie conversation was. Hmm, I started to think maybe I was on to something here. I’ve been looking to start a blog, and now I had a topic.

So began my interest in discovering and sharing what men and women  whip up in the kitchen and beyond to  impress each other. Sharing time with someone special usually begins or ends with a meal. My research has taught me that Food and Romance are universal languages of love. I was intrigued.

The mission of Seduction Meals is to guide and inspire with ways to create an intimate date centered around a meal. You’ll find recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night bites, tips on how to seductively plate a dish, and how to use herbs and spices – all in the interest of creating a memorable romantic meal for two.

I’ve produced this blog for many years and continue to love asking people: Seduction Meals. Everyone has one – what’s yours?
