Every time I peruse a menu from a Middle Eastern restaurant and I see the word fattoush, I can’t help but smile. For some strange reason, I just love that word – Fattoush. I even named my cat Fattoush so I could hear the word all the time.
Fattoush is a Middle Eastern salad that is quite similar to it’s Italian variation – Panzanella. Both are made with chopped tomatoes and fresh vegetables paired with bread that soaks up the flavors. Fattoush calls for pieces of pita bread and Panzanella calls for Italian or French bread.
