Presentation Tip: Five Fab Side Dish and Main Course Pairings

Once you decide on the main course for your special home-cooked Romantic Meal for Two, the next step to consider is the side dish (or dishes) that will pair and present well with your main course.

You want to think about maximizing flavors and seducing with color. Color is just as important as taste. All senses are involved when you connect taste and aroma with the visual enticement of a great presentation – and color is one of they key components. This can be done with a colorful garnishes, contrasting colors, special sauces, the plate you choose, and so on. So if you have a chicken dish, pairing this with roasted cauliflower will make your meal feel colorless and “flat”. A beautiful medium rare steak pairs well with sautéed mushrooms but add a Tomato Blue Cheese Salad – and POW! you’ve got my attention.
